. In the group, we aim to develop new catalytic methods and to apply them to the synthesis of complex natural products. In particular, we are trying to discover regioselective C-H functionalizations of naphthalenes which is still an understudied skeleton. The objectives of this project is to be able to selectively functionalize different position of naphthalene derivatives thanks to metal-catalyzed C-H activation reactions. By combining these methodologies and bio-inspired approach, we also aimed at synthesizing complex aromatic polyketides.

. In another project, we are trying to develop regioselective functionalization of aldehydes thanks to a transient directing group strategy.

. The alarming explosion of infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria is a main threat for human health worldwide and the French government has made combatting antibioresistance a priority. In a collaboration with the MNHN (Dr Y. Li), azetidomonamides were recently discovered in a Pseudomonas aeruginosa (an important nosocomial human pathogen) strain and were implicated in the bacterium virulence attenuation. In this project, we are developping synthesis of azetidomonamides and analogues in order to understand their biosynthesis and to discover a next-generation antibiotic.
